Growth care uganda
Growth Care Uganda (GCU) is an organization registered in the republic of Uganda as a non-profit, non-commercial & non-government, it started as a small Community based organization operating in one sub county of Agali in Lira District but now operating Northern Uganda as a National NGO. It was started with shared passion by a group of Christian brothers in 2012 who desired to rescue, restore, and reintegrate children affected by malnutrition and girls affected by injustice and negative social norms in the post-war northern Uganda. From the onset, it started operating with the name called Child Rescue ministry but later in 2020 rebranded her name to Growth Care Uganda

In response to our vision and missions, GCU has three core programatic themes directly being implemented that includes Health, Education, Youth and Women Economic empowerment. Besides, GCU being Christian founded, it integrate spiritual development as a cross cutting theme. Although GCU is registered as a national NGO, we are more known for being a community based organisation with strong presence in the communities of Lira, kole and Lira City but we also have some component of our programs in Apac, Oyam, Alebtong,Otuke, Dokolo and Nebbi in West Nile. However, our coordination office is located in Lira City West at Bishop Oyanga Road in Adyel division.
Main Goals
- To fight illiteracy by opening opportunities for the under privileged Ugandans to have access to quality education through education sponsorship and school empowerment initiatives.
- To improve quality of life for children, girls and mothers through health interventions in child nutrition, maternal child health and Menstrual health and hygiene.
- To reduce poverty in households especially among youth through youth economic empowerment and household improvement enterprises
- To spur spiritual revival for community development
through leadership training, community discipleship
networks and Christian’s resource development.
